Records of the Regional Compliance Council

1933-1935

This series consists of meeting minutes, case analyses, correspondence, memorandums, and weekly reports. The correspondence, memorandums, and weekly reports relate to the general work of the council. Case analyses list the subject, the respondent (generally the same person or company described as the subject), the complainants, the source of the complaint, the labor or trade practice code allegedly violated, the details of the alleged violation, and the analyst's recommendation or "finding of fact" for the disposition of the case. The case analyst's brief then went to the Regional Compliance Council for a hearing- also known as the meeting- of the case. The minutes of the meeting or hearing summarize the council's deliberations. The minutes identify the parties present at the meeting, the particulars of the case, the remarks of analysts and respondent attorneys, and the council's recommendation for settlement, dismissal, or retention. Transcripts of hearings are a verbatim record of the council meeting. The council sent its recommendation to the Regional Director. The files relate to NRA activities in Region VII, which comprised Colorado, Iowa, Kansa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming, and was headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
